THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES CHOOSES THE PRESIDENT! However, ELA solicits input from faculty, staff and community through surveys, group presentations and direct outreach to give the Board additional information for their decision.
ELA takes the time to learn about the community demographics, economic outlook, as well as opportunities and threats the next president will face. This helps the Board select the RIGHT candidates, not just good candidates.
Because ELA consultants work only with North Carolina community colleges, we are able to meet with Boards and Search Committees whenever and as often as needed to resolve issues that arise during any presidential search. In other words, ELA goes "above and beyond" to stay with the Board through the entire search.
